POULSBO LIBRARY
NORWEGIAN GARDEN

Norwegian garden at Kitsap Regional Library

This small reclaimed piece of soil near the parking lot has been a labor of love and energy since 2016. We have cleared it of debris and blackberries, planned it and, with the support of the library, some community organizations, some businesses and the Poulsbo Garden Club, we are developing a little garden to celebrate Poulsbo’s Norwegian heritage.

A lot of research of authentic Norwegian gardens and their history went into finding just the right plants for this garden. A lot of club and personal money went into purchasing them. Now, we currently maintain Poulsbo’s newest public garden to ensure its successful growth.
